Answer: -3x -19y +8

Explanation:

we have two expressions 17x -13y +8

and  20x +6y

difference = 17x -13y +8 -(20x+6y)            (1)

Now, when we open the bracket and there is a negative sign before it sign inside the bracket gets changed above equation (1)  will be written as

17x - 13y +8 - 20x -6y

Now, we can simplify the above expression we will get

-3x - 19y +8

a) Keith's car will have less gas.

Locate the point in which miles driven = 90 (Between 60 and 120)

Since Keith's line is lower than Carmen, he has less gas.

We can also find the difference: 11 - 10 = 1.

It will have 1 less gallon.

b) Look at the point in which both lines meet. This means that they have the same amount of gallons remaining (8) at 180 miles driven.

Before 180 miles, Keith's car will always have less car remaining.

Question 1 of 16
irga5000 [103]

None of the alternatives are correct. The domain's lower bound is 6, however it contains 6, therefore a bracket is required rather than a parenthesis. [6 (infinity)] Because infinity is not included, a bracket for infinity is invalid. The range is from 0 to infinity. assuming you meant 1/sqr (x-6). However, none of the options are right if you meant 1/(sqr(x) - 6).

or did you mean 1/sqrx - 6? However, none of them are correct.
