B. It emphasizes the problems that prevent one from loving the white world.

Parallelism is the repetition of the same grammatical or sentence structure. In the excerpt the parallel phrases are: "too powerful, too complacent, too ready...too ignorant and too innocent". These phrases make up the list of the reasons that loving white people is difficult. By using parallelism, the author is emphasizing the list and showing that there are many factors.

The verb specified from the sentence is a present participial.

Present participial is the form of a verb, ending in -ing in English, which is used in forming continuous tenses, e.g., in I'm thinking, alone in nonfinite clauses, e.g., in sitting here, I haven't a care in the world, as a noun, e.g., in good thinking, and as an adjective, e.g., in running water<span>.

Answer:

If people killed all insects, Mother Nature would ascent to chaos. While there would no longer be mosquitos feasting on families during their summer camping trip, the frogs would no longer have their flies to eat. A lot of insects consume things humans throw out, things humans waste. Without them, the would would begin to fill with even more trash. Without insects, there would no longer be butterflies to catch during the spring or for the birds to eat. Insects bring bring a balance of utter annoyance and peace to Earth.
