Answer:

x=7

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

\angle K=\angle N

\angle J=\angle M

Therefore, \triangle JKL\sim \triangle MNP

By AA similarity postulate

AA similarity: When two angles of one triangle are equal to its corresponding angles of other triangle then , two triangles are similar by AA similarity.

When two triangles are similar then the ratio of their corresponding sides are equal.

Therefore, \frac{JK}{MN}=\frac{JL}{MP}

We have JK=25 units,MN=30 units

JL=20 units,MP=4x-4

Substitute the values then we get

\frac{25}{30}=\frac{20}{4x-4}

\frac{5}{6}=\frac{20}{4(x-1)}=\frac{5}{x-1}

x-1=\frac{5\times 6}{5}

x-1=6

x=6+1=7

Hence, the value of x=7

(Power and Energy) If electricity costs $0.09 per kilowatt hour, find the cost (in dollars) of running each of the following ele
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer:

a) $0.97

b) $0.16

c) $24.30

Step-by-step explanation:

$0.09 per kilowatt hour = $0.09/kWh

6h/day 30 days = 180h

a) 60W*180h = 10800 Wh = 10.8kWh

10.8kWh * $0.09/kWh = $0.97

b) P = V*I

V = 120V

I = 80mA = 80/1000 = 0.08A

P = 120*0.08 = 9.6W

9.6W*180h = 1728 Wh = 1.728kWh

1.728kWh * $0.09/kWh = $0.16

c) 1500W*180h = 270000 Wh = 270kWh

270kWh * $0.09/kWh = $24.30

In an all boys school, the heights of the student body are normally distributed with a mean of 71 inches and a standard deviatio
muminat

Answer:

15.87%

Step-by-step explanation:

First thing here is that we calculate the z-score which corresponds to 76

mathematically;

z-score = (x-mean)/SD

mean = 71 and SD = 5

plugging these values, we have;

z = (76-71)/5 = 5/5 = 1

Now, we want to firstly get the probability that we have a student shorter than 76 inches

The probability we want to calculate is P(z<1)

we can get this using the z-score table directly

That would be 0.15866

In percentage that is 15.866% which is 15.87% to the nearest tenth
