Also, because the nuclear race led to the cold war status of constant alarm. Inflation increased in the decade, oil price increased and the U.S. had to look for partners to trade. Finally, environmental concerns reached the public eye and they demanded a better strategy about consumption and production.

The relationship between the U.S. and the Middle East in the 1970s was very important because due to many phenomenons the U.S. required to look for partners to start oil trade at good deals prices.
