Serga [27]
There's nothing a government can do to clean it up as long as 100 million
people keep dumping in it, and that will continue until an alien life form
spontaneously rises out of its sacred waters some moon-lit night and
terrorizes some town's people.

How did America enter World War 2
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

This a very interesting and general question.

Explanation:

The US officially entered World War 2 on December 11, 1941. Mobilization began when the United States declared war on Japan on December 8, 1941, one day after the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

This move caused Germany, an ally of Japan at the time, to declare war on the United States on December 11th, sucking the US into the European Theater of this global conflict, and taking the US, in just four short days, from a peacetime nation to one that was preparing for all-out war with two enemies on opposite sides of the globe.

Although formal declarations of war did not come until 1941, one could argue that the US had been involved in WWII for some time already, since 1939, despite the country’s self-proclaimed neutrality. It had played a role by supplying Germany’s opponents — which, by 1940, after the Fall of France to Hitler and Nazi Germany, included pretty much only Great Britain — with supplies for the war effort.

What did Rome need to do to prepare to fight Carthage for control of Sicily?
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

(264-241 BC) began with disagreement over Sicily, where Rome and Carthage get dragged into a conflict between Syracuse and the Mamertines; the Mamertines control Messana, the port city between Sicily and mainland Italy, so the Romans do not want Carthage to gain control of it; Roman needed to develop navy in order to fight this battle on island of Sicily; Carthage runs out of money and surrenders Sicily Sig: shows Roman ingenuity - they gain proficiency at naval warfare/turn it in land warfare through boarding tactics; Romans fight to the last man, Carthage fights to last penny
