A novel is a prose narrative usually longer than other literary works and mainly inspired on fiction. There are multiple types of novels including science fiction novels, fantasy novels, horror novels, historical novels, among others. However there are common elements among all novels, these elements include generally speaking novels have multiple characters as the plot (set of events in a novel) depend on the characters to be developed, also, the story of them takes place in a set of settings (time and geographic locations) and it is related to different themes such as love, betrayal, death, isolation, among others, also depending on the novel this can have a clear resolution (close ending) or not (open ending). Due to this, it can be concluded generally speaking novels have multiple settings as the events that are included in the story of a novel do not occur in one place at one time but evolved in the time and are connected to multiple places.
There can be many themes in novels, some bigger than others. There are many characters quite often, protagonists, antagonists, major, minor, etc. I'm not sure what resolution is but the answer is definitely B. Multiple settings. A novel does not take place in just one area, one minute, one time period, etc. Good luck!
