What is the explanation for the fact that the desert sand is very hot in the day and very cool at night?

Geography

Tropical desert regions have a high diurnal temperature range. This means that there is a relatively large difference in the temperature during the day and the night. This occurs because desert environments have little water vapor in the atmosphere. This means that the desert heats up very quickly during the day and will lose heat rapidly during the night.

aivan3 [116]
Hi!

I believe they are apart of a group that makes them similar. Nyos is one of only three known exploding lakes to be saturated with carbon dioxide in this way, the others being Lake Monoun, also in Cameroon, and Lake Kivu in Democratic Republic of Congo.

Hope this helps!

Where is the crater from the meteor that killed the dinosaurs?
marysya [2.9K]

Answer:

Its center is located near the town of Chicxulub

Explanation:

is an impact crater buried underneath the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.[4] Its center is located near the town of Chicxulub, after which the crater is named.[5] It was formed by a large asteroid or comet about 11 to 81 kilometres (6.8 to 50.3 miles) in diameter,[2] the Chicxulub impactor, striking the Earth. The date of the impact coincides precisely with the Cretaceous–Paleogene boundary (K–Pg boundary), slightly less than 66 million years ago,[3] and a widely accepted theory is that worldwide climate disruption from the event was the cause of the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event, a mass extinction in which 75% of plant and animal species on Earth became extinct, including all non-avian dinosaurs.
