Explanation: He was a country Dr. and was fulfilling his duty of treating patient. Unfortunately, the patient turned out to be the murderer of Abraham Lincoln. He was convicted for the same incident just because he concealed the knowledge of conspiracy. If he would have told the truth, he would have been released. Despite of knowing who that man was, the Dr. said to the inquiry officer that the man was strange to him. This controversial statement put him into this situation.
