PEMDAS is one of the most important rules in math. If you don't follow it, your answers can be WAYYY off. Ex: 3 + 2 x 4 According to PEMDAS, 2 x 4 = 8, then + 3 = 11. But if you go against the rule, the answer would be 3 + 2 = 5, then x 4 = 20, which is the complete wrong answer.

Hope this helps!

The order of operations gives us instructions on how to simplify expressions that contain more than one operation.

Let's look at an example.

8 + 2 · 3

The first thing you need to know about the order of operations is that multiplication and division always come before addition and subtraction.

So in this problem, we're going to multiply before we add.

Since 2 · 3 is 6, our next step will read 8 + 6 and 8 + 6 simplifies to 14.

I have also shown this problem in the image attached.

When setting up a proportion to calculate scale drawings, how do you write the proportion? A)actual/actual B)actual/drawing C) d

When setting up a proportion to calculate scale drawings, how do you write the proportion? A)actual/actual B)actual/drawing C) drawing/drawing D)drawing/actual

The correct answer is option D: drawing/actual

Suppose there is a drawing that has a scale of 1:10. So, this means anything drawn with the size of "1" would have an actual size of "10" in the real world, so a measurement of 120mm on the drawing would be 1200mm on the actual/real image.

Al saves pennies. He agreed to give six thirteenths of his pennies to Bev if she would give six thirteenths of what she got from
telo118 [61]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of pennies that Al had initially.

He agreed to give six thirteenths of his pennies to Bev. It means that the number of pennies that he gave to Bev is 6/13 × x = 6x/13

if she would give six thirteenths of what she got from Al to Carl, it means that the number of pennies that Carl received is 6/13 × 6x/13 = 36x/169

if Carl in turn would give six thirteenths of what he got from Bev to Dani and Dani received 2376 pennies, it means that

6/13 × 36x/169 = 2376

216x/2179 = 2376

216x = 2376 × 2179

216x = 5220072

x = 5220072/216

x = 24167

AI had 24167 pennies initially
