Charlotte Perkins Gilman (1860-1935) was an American writer and novelist, best remembered for being a leading theorist of the women’s movement in the United States and for writing feminist literature, in which she made a call for economic independence for women, she rejected the per-established role of woman and their responsibility to take care of domestic and child-care chores and shared other unorthodox ideas about woman's lifestyle.
