1. genocides.

Explanation:

After the end of the Cold War many African countries were affected badly. This was due to the influence that the Soviets had in lot of them. Once they lost their ally and supporter, lot of these countries got in even worse conditions and the dictators made some terrible decisions that made a negative lasting impact.

Because of the terrible conditions in these countries the people were not satisfied so they revolted. Numerous organizations formed, some separatist, some terrorist, some in order to overthrow the government, so the situation escalated quickly. Also, the dictators used the minority groups in order to blame them for all troubles thought hey had nothing to do with it. The end results were lot of civil wars and in several occasions even genocides.

2. Jewish people.

Explanation:

The Islamists have shown on numerous occasions that they are anything but tolerant when it comes to other religious groups. This can easily be seen in that they propagate that the other groups of people are lesser beings or don't even deserve to live. They support slavery of other religious groups, strip them of all rights, and often terrorize them without any reason for such actions.

The group that is most commonly blamed for ''contaminating'' the Muslim world are the Jewish people. The Islamists are not fond of the Jewish people at all and tend to use them as an excuse for everything that is not right in their societies. This resulted in persecution, open attacks, and open spread of hatred toward this group of people.

Methods that are effective at acquiring and resisting power?
Zigmanuir [339]

Methods that are effective at acquiring power are often entirely different from resisting power.

Explanation:

To acquire power in a political sense a  nation must always be looking to expand its influence across the borders and to be in a position of profit against its rivals on issues that concern both parties.

This also includes begin able to harness any loopholes in the world politic scenario for the profit.

To refuse power in this sense is to project strength and independence but to not seek an active role in the world politics and instead maintain own position of advantage.

Many peacekeeping countries have been found following this rule.

What was the impact of the 1900 hurricane in Galveston and what preventative steps did the city take to prevent such severe dama
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

Explanation: The fact that the city of Galveston exists today is the triumph of imagination, hope and determination over reality. Perched precariously on a sand-barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico, Galveston is subject to the whims of inevitable hurricanes.

One of those hurricanes, dancing its deadly way across the Gulf of Mexico in early September 1900, came very close to dealing the city a fatal blow. An estimated 6,000 residents died, and most structures in the city were destroyed or badly damaged. In terms of human life, it remains the worst natural disaster in United States history.

Galveston's leaders took several major steps to recover from the storm and to prevent a recurrence of the devastation. First, they developed a new form of municipal government, one with strong centralized control to handle the economic recovery of the city. Next, they built a massive seawall to turn back storm-generated waves. Perhaps the most amazing step they took was to raise the level of the entire city, by more than 16 feet in some areas, in order to keep flooding at a minimum.
