The colossal mainstream of Chinese silk originates from the mulberry silkworms (Bombyx mori). During the larval stage of its life-cycle, the insects feeds on the leaves of mulberry trees. Non-mulberry silkworms cocoon production in China primarily focuses on wild silk from the Chinese Tussah moth (Antheraea spp.). This moth typically feeds on trees (e.g. oaks) and its larvae spin coarser, flatter, yellower filament than the mulberry silk moths. That is the well-kept secret, therefor Chinese silk has the best quality in the world.

In 2005, China accounted for 74 percent of the global raw silk production and 90 percent of the world export market. Which is huge! 90% of the world export market? Who has the other 10%? Who cares! 90 % is almost all the market, it is almost 100%! Who cares these days about the 10% of something related to business, or any 10% left of something economically speaking?

Local governments have and are continuing to introduce new facilities that are expected to bring in latest high-end manufacturing machinery that will elevate both the quality and the quantity of the silk being produce in China. It is estimated that it will render significant revenue increases as its new facilities bring increased production and distribution capabilities. Nevertheless the Chinese own the 90% of the market they are always trying to be better and improving themselves, that's why we all have so much to learn from them.

The reason is quite simple, this allowed them to monopolize the production and trade of silk and its trade. Because they were able to monopolize its production they could charge whatever price they wanted since they had no competition that would offer lower prices. This made them a lot of money and as they started developing the Silk Road they not only traded silk but several other products and even slaves between Asia and Europe.

What is George Washington's views on slavery and political career
pentagon [3]

Answer:

The relationship between George Washington and slavery was complex, contradictory and evolved over time. It operated on two levels: his personal position as a slaveowning Virginia planter and later farmer; and his public positions first as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War and later as President of the United States. He owned slaves almost his entire life, having inherited the first ten slaves at the age of eleven on the death of his father in 1743. In adulthood his personal slaveholding increased through inheritance, purchase and natural increase, and he gained control of dower slaves belonging to the Custis estate on his marriage in 1759 to Martha Dandridge Custis. He put his slaves to work on his Mount Vernon estate, which in time grew to some 8,000 acres (3,200 ha) encompassing five separate farms, initially planting tobacco but diversifying into grain crops in the mid 1760s. Washington's early attitudes to slavery reflected the prevailing Virginia planter views of the day; he demonstrated no moral qualms about the institution and referred to his slaves as "a Species of Property." He became skeptical about the economic efficacy of slavery before the American Revolution, and grew increasingly disillusioned with the institution after it. Washington remained dependent on slave labor, and by the time of his death in 1799 he owned 124 slaves, whom he freed in his will, and controlled another 193, most of whom remained enslaved.
