The energy to be dissipated is proportional to 1/2 m v^2 ie proportional to v^2 for the same car

In turn F * d = work done.
F is constant ( same brakes)
so d is proportional to v^2
if v is multiplied by 3 then d is multiplied by 3^2 = 9
distance = 180m

Answer:

If the car is travelling at 150 km/hr it will travel 180.12 m before stopping.

Explanation:

Here for the first condition

     Initial speed, u = 50 km/hr = 13.89 m/s

     Distance, s = 20 m

     Final speed, v = 0 m/s

     We have equation of motion, v² = u²+2as

      0² = 13.89²+2 x a x 20

       a = -4.82 m/s²

Deceleration of car brake = 4.82 m/s²

For the second condition

      Initial speed, u = 150 km/hr = 41.67 m/s

      Final speed, v = 0 m/s

      Acceleration, a = -4.82 m/s²

     We have equation of motion, v² = u²+2as

      0² = 41.67²-2 x 4.82 x s

       s = 180.12 m

If the car is travelling at 150 km/hr it will travel 180.12 m before stopping.

In a game of tug of war, team one pulls to the right with a force of 500 newtons and team two pulls to the left with a force of
seraphim [82]

Answer:

Explanation:

There is no set way to do this. All you have to do is define left and right. Left will be minus and right will be the opposite --- plus.

That is completely arbitrary. It could be the other way around. It does not matter.

Left is minus so: - 600 N is the force going left.

Right plus so: + 500 N

Now just add.

Net Force = +500 - 600

Net Force = - 100 N

So the Net Force is - 100 N going to the left.

A double-slit experiment yields an interference pattern due to the path length difference from light traveling through one slit
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer:

Therefore the correct statement is B.

Explanation:

In the interference and diffraction phenomena, the natural wave of electromagnetic radiation must be taken into account, the wave front that advances towards the slit can be considered as when it reaches it behaves like a series of wave emitters, each slightly out of phase from the previous one, following the Huygens principle that states that each point is compiled as a source of secondary waves.

The sum of all these waves results in the diffraction curve of the slit that has the shape

      I = Io sin² θ /θ²

Where the angle is a function of the wavelength and the width of the slit.

From the above, the interference phenomenon can be treated as the sum of two diffraction phenomena displaced a distance equal to the separation of the slits (d)

Therefore the correct statement is B

What part of an atom bonds with other atoms? ? A the innermost electrons B valence electronsany C the outermost protons D any el
kaheart [24]
Ionic bonds occur when electrons are donated from one atom to another. Each type of atom forms a characteristic number of covalentbonds with other atoms. An example of that is a hydrogen atom with one electron in its outer shell forms only one bond, its out most orbital becomes filled with two electrons.
