Which instruments did puccini use in madame butterfly to evoke the japanese gagaku orchestra?
Gennadij [26K]
Puccini tried to "imitate" Japanese harmonies, but didn't have the time, possibilities or even a desire to acquire their traditional instruments. So, he settled on creating the atmosphere with standard flutes, piccolos, harps, glockenspiel (percussion instrument), and tam-tams. The only Japanese instrument he used are Japanese bells (bonsho).

1. Why was it a good idea to include all the races in the formation of the Fellowship of the Ring?
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:  Although some may say it was a bad idea or a dumb idea to include all the races in the formation of the Fellowship, I believe it was a good including them all. The Elf King, Gandalf, and Frodo were then able to make sure everyone knew what they were trying to accomplish. Their goal was to destroy the One Ring, so Saruman couldn’t get his hands on it and take over all of the lands. Every race included in the Fellowship had their own advantages to potentially offer.
