She can cut 6.75 shorter pieces

<h3>Further explanation </h3>

The division operation is one of the basic arithmetic operations

Common signs used are \displaystyle \boxed{:}  or   \displaystyle \boxed{\slash}

The division is written by placing the numerator above the denominator with a horizontal line between them or use a slash with the numerator's position and the denominator is parallel

The division is actually an iterative subtraction operation (as many as the number of divisors)

Division is the opposite of multiplying

The general form of division can be stated by:

\large{\boxed{\boxed{\bold{divident:divisor=quotient+remainder}}}

example:

7: 3 = 2 + 1

7 = dividend

3 = divisor

2 = quotient

1 = remainder

The form of division can also be expressed in terms of fractions

In the number above, the form of fraction obtained is the form of mixed fractions

\displaystyle \frac{7}{3}=2\frac{1}{3}

Mixed fractions consist of integers and ordinary fractions

Division operation statement:

"7 divided by 3 equals 2 remainder 1

<h3>Known</h3>

a piece of cloth that is 3 yards long

shorter lengths of 16 inches each

<h3>Asked</h3>

the number of shorter pieces that can be cut

<h3>Answer</h3>

Division operation statement:

"3 yards long divided by 16 inches*

\displaystyle =~3~yards : 16~inches

We convert yards to inches

One yard is equal to 36 inches

1 yards = 36 inches

so for 3 yards :

\displaystyle \frac{1~yard}{3~yard} =\frac{36~inches}{x~inches}

\displaystyle x=\frac{3~yard\times36}{1~yard}

x = 108 inches

Division operation :

108 inches : 16 inches

= 6.75 pieces

Answer

Find out the how many shorter pieces can a seamstress cut.

To prove

Let us assume that the number of shorter pieces  cut be x.

As given

A seamstress has a piece of cloth that is 3 yards long.

she cuts it into shorter lengths of 16 inches each.

As

1 yards = 36 inches

Now convert 3 yards into inches.

= 3 × 36

= 108 yards

Than the equation becomes

16x = 108

x = \frac{108}{16}

x = 6.75

Therefore the number of shorter pieces be 6 .

A rectangular aquarium has length (x+ 10), width (x + 4), and height (t + 6). Determine a simplified function that represents th
Helga [31]

Answer:

V = x³ + 20x² + 124x + 240

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a rectangular prism is width times length times height.

V = wlh

Given w = x+4, l = x+10, and h = x + 6:

V = (x + 4)(x + 10)(x + 6)

V = (x + 4)(x² + 16x + 60)

V = x²(x + 4) + 16x(x + 4) + 60(x + 4)

V = x³ + 4x² + 16x² + 64x + 60x + 240

V = x³ + 20x² + 124x + 240

Simplify x to the third power over x
Hunter-Best [27]
X^3/x (I hope this is what you mean)
Step One: Convert each x into the appropriate power.
x^3/x^1 (makes it easier to divide)
Step Two: Spread out the x's.
x*x*x/x
Then we divide three x to one x.
x*x
x^2
The answer is x^2.

A) write 63 as the product of prime numbers.
steposvetlana [31]

63 as the product of prime numbers is 3 x 3 x 7.

The highest common factor of 63 and 105 is 21.

Prime numbers are numbers that are only divisible by one and that number. Examples of prime numbers are 5, 7, and 11.

Factors of 63 are: 1, 3, 7, 9, 21, and 63

Prime numbers that are products of 63 = 3 x 3 x 7

The factor of a number is a number that can divide another number without leaving any remainder.

  • Factors of 63 =  1, 3, 7, 9, 21, and 63
  • Factors of 105 =  1, 3, 5, 7, 15, 21, 35 and 105.
  • Common factors = 1, 3, 7, 21
  • Highest common factor = 21
