So if your doing #14, then this is trying to find what x,y,and z are. The way to find this knowing that a triangle is always 180 degrees. If a triangle is always 180 degrees, then that means that the right triangle is 54 degrees + the other two points, which will add up to 180. The box on the bottom left of the right triangle is showing that this angle is a right angle, meaning it's 90 degrees. So you have 90 degrees plus 54 degrees, which equals to 144 degrees. This isn't 180, so what number is needed to make it 180? 36 degrees is the answer, because if you have 54+90+ y= 180 then you find y, 144+y=180, what's y? 36 degrees is y to make it 180 degrees. The same is for the left triangle. Z is the same angle as the right angle on the right triangle, so z is 90 degrees. So we have the problem 52+90+x= 180, meaning 142+x=180. X is 38 degrees, because that is the number needed to make the triangle 180 degrees. So you have y= 36 degrees, x= 38 degrees, and z= 90 degrees. Hope this helps
