. The following transcript comes from the monumental 2008 case of Heller vs. District of Columbia. The result of this Supreme Co

urt case determined the Second Amendment protects the right of an individual to keep and bear arms. Read the statement and then answer the question that follows:
Okay. I'd like to respond—certainly, Justice Scalia. I'd like to respond to the point about the—the District of Columbia's position over the years with respect to the functional firearms ban. The Petitioners have had two opportunities to urge courts to adopt this so-called self-defense exception which they construed in the amendment. The first opportunity came in 1978 in McIntosh versus Washington, where the petitioners urged the Court of Appeals of the District of Columbia to uphold the law because it was irrational in their view to prohibit self-defense in the home with firearms. They deemed it to be too dangerous, and this was a legitimate policy choice of the City Council, and they actually prevailed in that view. The second opportunity that the Petitioners had to urge this sort of self-defense construction was actually in this case in the district court.

In one paragraph of five to eight sentences, evaluate whether the statement is effective in terms of ethos. Use evidence from the statement to support your answer. Use proper spelling and grammar.

D) Ethical conduct

Explanation:

Ethical conduct is acting in ways in which the society believes certain things should be conducted which they think are good values. According to the scientific research children learn from their surroundings and develop a thinking and behaviour which is influenced by the society.

As indicated by logical research, kids gain from their environment and creative thinking and conduct which is impacted by society. Since kids need some moral conduct as they grew up, so they would not encroach on any other person's life.

Lord of the flies. In the role of nature how does living in a primitive setting drive the plot?
dem82 [27]
The plot of Lord of the Flies is very much about survival and how certain roles of groups will emerge any time you have a group of people, no matter where. A leader will always emerge and sometimes more than one which creates conflict. Also, a follower will emerge and they will side with the leader of their choice and follow their actions, even if it goes against what they might believe inside. They might follow out of fear and not just because they admire a leader. Being in a primitive setting shows that this idea of emerging roles will happen no matter what the setting and it has happened all the way back to cave people (similar to this primitive setting). Nobody has an advantage in this setting, being socially more refined, richer, etc. doesn't make one a better leader on an island.

PLEASE ANSWER!!
inn [45]

Answer: 4. Littluns

The proof of this is at the sentence at the top of the paragraph that contains the passage your teacher gave you. The sentence I'm referring to is this:

The smaller boys were known now by the generic title of “littluns.”

Then later on in that same paragraph is when your passage shows up. So effectively much of that paragraph is talking about littluns

Making a conclusion is like making _____. a decision a reason a prediction an effect
Dafna11 [192]
In literary terms, it's most like a decision. If this is referring to conclusions in science, however, it is closer to a prediction.
