Brennan has been playing a game where he can create towns and help his empire expand. Each town he has allows him to create 1.15

times as many villagers as he had in the one before. The game gave Brennan 5 villagers to start with. Explain to Brennan how to create an equation to predict the number of villagers in any specific town. Then show how to use your equation to solve for the number of villagers he can create to live in the 15th town.

Answer:For each town he builds the number of villagers increase by 1.15 times.

So he has 5 villagers at the start, for the first village he builds he will have;

villagers = 5*1.15 = 5.75

For the next village = 5.75 * 1.15 = 6.6125

in other words for the second village in expanded form = 5 * 1.15 *1.15

as you can see the number of villagers keeps multiplying by the same factor thats 1.15.

For every town that is created, the number is multiplied by 1.15

theres an exponential increase in the number of villagers

Then we can build the following equation;

number of villagers in 15 towns = 5 * 1.15¹⁵

                                                 = 40.68

 as its number of villagers it cannot be a decimal value therefore round it off to therefore we can use the following equation to find the number of villagers in 'n' number of towns;

villagers in 'n' number of towns = 5 * 1.15ⁿ

How do I write 23/50 as a decimal?
masha68 [24]
A fraction is just a short way to write a division problem.

Every fraction really means

                       (the top number) divided by (the bottom number).

When you actually do the division, the quotient is the decimal for the fraction.

To find the decimal for 23/50,  divide 23 by 50 .

What is the fraction twelve twentieths in it's simplest form
tatyana61 [14]
We start with 12/20. Half both numbers = 6/10. Half again = 3/5.
Because 3/5 are both odd numbers and can't be made smaller without using decimals (which you don't want to use within a fraction), 3/5 is the simplest form for this fraction.

A triangle has two sides of lengths 7 and 9.what value could the length of the third side be?
Diano4ka-milaya [45]
The side length has to be between 2 (=9-7) and 16 (=9+7). In both these corner cases the triangle will have collapsed to a line.

So the correct answers are B,C,D and E, and F is a corner case. Theoretically I suppose you have to count F in as a valid answer.
