Sarah and Joe are seeking to join a gym. Sarah saw on television that Great Gym is offering membership at $19.50 per month, plus

a one-time registration
fee of $59. Joe plans to join Workout World because Workout World only charges $9.50 per month, plus a one-time registration fee of $149.

Which gym membership is a better deal? Explain why.

So first of all, let us take a time limit- suppose of 12 months.
This means, the total needed to pay is:
59+12*19.50= $293.
In the second case, the registration fee is $149.
So the total needed to pay is;
149+12*9.5= $263.
So with this, we know the second deal is better, as it costs less at the same period of time than the first deal.

The radius of the base of a cylinder is increasing at a rate of 7 millimeters per hour. The height of the cylinder is fixed at 1
Ilya [14]

Answer:

The rate of change of the volume of the cylinder at that instant = 791.28\ mm^3/hr

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

Rate of increase of base of radius of base of cylinder = 7 mm/hr

Height of cylinder = 1.5 mm

Radius at a certain instant = 12 mm

To find rate of change of volume of cylinder at that instant.

Solution:

Let r represent radius of base of cylinder at any instant.

Rate of increase of base of radius of base of cylinder can be given as:

\frac{dr}{dt}=7\ mm/hr

Volume of cylinder is given by:

V=\pi\ r^2h

Finding derivative of the Volume with respect to time.

\frac{dV}{dt}=\pi\ h\ 2r\frac{dr}{dt}

Plugging in the values given:

\frac{dV}{dt}=\pi\ (1.5)\ 2(12)(7)

\frac{dV}{dt}=252\pi

Using \pi=3.14

\frac{dV}{dt}=252(3.14)

\frac{dV}{dt}=791.28\ mm^3/hr (Answer)

Thus rate of change of the volume of the cylinder at that instant = 791.28\ mm^3/hr

ANSWER. Write the word or phrase that best completes each statement or answers the question. Solve the problem. 1) Two kinds of
Leto [7]

Answer:

To complete the problem statement it is needed:

1.- the volume and weight capacity of the truck, because these will become the constraints.

2.- In order to formulate the objective function we need to have an expression like this:

" How many of each type of crated cargo should the company shipped to maximize profit".

Solution:

z(max)  =  175  $

x  =  1

y  =  1

Assuming  a weight constraint   700 pounds  and

volume constraint  150 ft³ we can formulate an integer linear programming problem ( I don´t know if with that constraints such formulation will be feasible, but that is another thing)

Step-by-step explanation:

crated cargo A   (x)          volume  50 ft³   weigh   200 pounds

crated cargo B   (y)          volume  10 ft³     weigh   360 pounds

Constraints:  Volume     150 ft³

50*x  +  10*y  ≤ 150

Weight contraint:  700 pounds

200*x   +  360*y  ≤ 700

general constraints

x ≥ 0    y ≥ 0  both integers

Final formulation:

Objective function:

z  =  75*x  +  100*y   to maximize

Subject to:

50*x  +  10*y  ≤ 150

200*x   +  360*y  ≤ 700

x ≥ 0  y  ≥ 0  integers

After 4 iterations with the on-line solver the solution

z(max)  =  175  $

x  =  1

y  =  1

The measures of angles x and y in the above figure is:
xenn [34]

Step-by-step explanation:

sum of 2 angles on a straight line = 180°

therefore,

y + 120 = 180

y = 180 - 120 = 60

y = 60°

now apply angle sum property of triangle

now,

50 + x + y = 180

50 + x + 60 = 180

110 + x = 180

x = 180 - 110

x = 70

therefore, x = 70 & y = 60

hope this answer helps you dear! take care
