A chemist currently has a solution of 30% hydrochloric acid and a solution of 15% hydrochloric acid. He mixes the two solutions

together to create 24 ounces of a 25% hydrochloric acid solution. How many ounces of the 30% hydrochloric acid solution did he use in order to obtain the 25% solution?

Let amount of 30% ounces be x and that of 15% ounces by y.
x+y=24....i
0.30x+0.15y=0.25(24)....ii
from i:
x=24-y...iii
substitute iii in ii we get:
0.30(24-y)+0.15y=6
7.2-0.3y+0.15y=6
-0.15y=-1.2
y=8 ounces
x=24-8=16 ounces

When would we need to calculate circumference of a circle? Area of a circle?
Alex_Xolod [135]
If you know the diameter or radius of a circle, you can work out the circumference. To begin with, remember that pi is an irrational number written with the symbol π. π is roughly equal to 3.14. You can also work out the circumference of a circle if you know its radius.

Given the ordered pair (3,y), what value of y would make the ordered pair a solution of the equation 4x-2y=24
Lerok [7]
4x-2(3)=2y
4x-6=24
12-2(-6)=24
y=-6
12+12=24

PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!! I WILL MAKE YOU BRAINLIEST AND YOU GET 20 points!!!
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

I hope this makes sense, sorry for the lack of proofs.

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that S is the midpoint of line QT. The definition of a midpoint is that it bisects the line it is on. So, line QS and line TS are congruent, or the same.

Now, we also know that line QR and line TU are parallel. Because they are parallel, it means that they form congruent corners with lines QS and TS..I think the proof here is "angles opposite to congruent sides are congruent in a triangle." But I'm not sure if this is right. Anyways, this means angles RQS and UTS are congruent.

There's also some proof that when two lines cross, the opposite angles are congruent. This means that angles TSU and QSR are congruent.

Therefore, by ASA (angle-side-angle) ΔQRS ≅ ΔTUS.

What is the volume of a cone with a diameter of 30 feet and a height of 60 feet? Use 3.14 for π.
AysviL [449]

Answer:

14130 ft^3

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the volume of a cone of radius r and height h is

V = (1/3)*pi*r^2*h.

Here, V = (1/3)(3.14)(15 ft)^2*(60 ft) = 20*3.14*225 ft^3 = 14130 ft^3
