General form of the line equation is: y= mx + c
where m is the slope and c is the constant
the slope here is given and equal to 3
so, m= 3
y= 3x +c
to get the constant c, substitute with the point in this equation
y= -2 & x = 1
-2 = 3*1 + c
c = -5
then the equation of the line is y = 3x -5
y = 3x -3 -2
y +2 = 3(x-1)
the answer is (B)

46. Machine A produces 500 springs a day. The number of defective springs produced by this machine each day is recorded for 60 d
topjm [15]

Answer:

G. 0.45

Step-by-step explanation:

To find expected value, you simply multiply the value of each outcome (the numbers in the left column) by its probability

(the numbers in the right column) and then add them all together.

0(0.7) + 1(0.2) + 2(0.05) + 3(0.05)

0 + 0.2 + 0.1 + 0.15 = 0.3 + 0.15 = 0.45

1. Solve the system.
Sliva [168]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

We put 2nd equation into 1st equation and get y:

y=\frac{1}{7}x-4\\y=\frac{1}{7}(7y+1)-4\\y=y+\frac{1}{7}-4\\y=y-\frac{15}{4}\\NOTHING

We can't seem to come to a solution.

Also let's rearrange the 2nd equation into y = something form:

x = 7y + 1

7y = x - 1

y = 1/7 x -1

As we can see BOTH the lines have the same SLOPE, the number before x, which is 1/7 and we know that lines with same slope are parallel, they never intersect.

Having a solution to a system means their intersection point, since they are parallel lines, they don't intersect, and hence DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION.

D is the correct choice.

How do you multiply and then use distributive property?
morpeh [17]
It depends on the question given, for example

you can do distributive property will multiplying.

Example 1:

there is two ways on doing distributive property.

I can do 4(8+3)

add 8+3 since it is inside the parenthesis which equals = 11 then multiply the outside on what you added. 4x11= 44

example 2: I can also do it another way. 4(8+3) distribute the 4 by multiplying the 4 with both numbers. 4x8 and 4x3 which equals 32, and 12. add 32+12=44

so either way you will get the same answer. hope I helped.

Which criterion can be used to prove ABC and ADC are congruent?
exis [7]

Ratio of the heights of two similar cones is 7/9

what is the ratio of their radii? ratio of their volumes??

TIA

If they are similar, the ratio of the radaii is the same.

Now consider that the volume of a cone is 1/3 PI r^2 * h

So the volume ratio will have a (7/9)^2 * 7/9 ratio
