Using the Ninety-five theses by Martin Luther, the Catholic Church indulged in illegal means to acquire money from the people by selling "indulgences" to obtain salvation, which enraged Luther in German. Martin Luther challenged the sale of the indulgence as a means of seeking god's forgiveness. He further stated it as a false assurance to save people from their sins. Luther believed that the individual has control over what happens in his life. According to Luther, salvation comes only from god directly to people when the sinner realizes his mistakes and ask for forgiveness.
