THE DEFINITION OF DIGIT

Mathematics
2 answers:
Vaselesa [24]4 years ago
6 0

In maths, a digit is a character, a single number with a unique value that has been attributed to it in a world wide scale.

For example, 6 is a digit, but 16 in the other hand, is not a digit, it is composed by two digits, a 1 and a 6 that combined give you a determined value known as sixteen (16)

To be more clear: it's any number from 0 → 9. Note that the negative numbers from 0 → -9 are not different digits, they're only digits with a different sing in front of them.

Hope it helped,

Which statement describes the rate of change of the following function?
artcher [175]

Given:

The function is

f(x)=-5x-7

To find:

The rate of change of the given function.

Solution:

We have,

f(x)=-5x-7        ...(i)

It is a linear function because the degree or power of x in this function is 1.

Slope of a linear function is always constant.

The slope intercept form of a linear function is

f(x)=mx+b      ...(ii)

where, m is slope and b is y-intercept.

On comparing (i) and (ii), we get

m=-5

It means, the function has a constant rate of change, decreasing for all x at a rate of 5.

Therefore, the correct option is D.

Rewrite the following equation in slope-intercept form.
dexar [7]

Answer:

Slope-intercept form is

y = mx + b

We want to get the y by itself on one side of the equation.

0 = 18x + 6y – 2

First let's subtract 6y from both sides.

-6y = 18x – 2

Next let's divide both sides by -6.

y = (18 / -6)x - (2 / -6)

y = -3x + 1/3

...The last instructions are kind of confusing to me, but I think that is the answer you're after. :)

<u><em>The question is</em></u>

Find the number of jalapeno pepper pizzas sold each month

we know that

1,300 one-topping pizzas represent the 100%

so

using proportion

Find out the number of jalapeno pepper pizzas sold each month by a percentage of 15.7%

Let

x ----> the number of pepperoni pizzas sold each month

so

\frac{1,300}{100\%}=\frac{x}{15.7\%}\\\\x=1,300(15.7)/100\\\\x=204\ pizzas
