Consider the long division problem below. What error did Sam make when he computed the answer? 0.043 StartLongDivisionSymbol neg

ative 0.2709 EndLongDivisionSymbol minus 258 = 129. 129 minus 129 = a remainder of 0 and quotient of negative 63. The answer should be Negative 6.3. Sam should have moved the decimal point 3 places to the right in both the divisor and the dividend. The answer should be Negative 630. Sam should have moved the decimal point 5 places to the right in both the divisor and the dividend. The answer should be Negative 65. Sam made an error subtracting 258 from 270. The answer should be Negative 61. Sam made an error when multiplying 6 times the divisor.

Answer:

Sam made an error subtracting 258 from 270.

Step-by-step explanation:

0.043 / - 0.2709 /-  258 = 129. 129 - 129 = a remainder of 0 and quotient of negative 63.

Should actually answer and be 0.00061523317

So if sam rewrote this as;

0.043 / - 270.9 /-  258 = 6.15233173

There is no 63 or 6.3 or 630 answer possible and 5 decimals to the right would be absurd.

Here is a picture of a circle. Each square represents 1 square unit.
attashe74 [19]

We could go into calculating the area of the circle using the information we have, but I think this question just wants us to eyeball it.

Does each quadrant of the circle look like it's taking up more than half, or less than half of each square?

Probably looks like more doesn't it.

Which means that there's at least more than 2 square units being taken up by this square.

It also means that it's taking up less than 4 square units, since each square is not being filled up.

Is it more or less than 3?

It's really depends on the perspective on whoever looks at it, but to me personally, it looks like it's more than 3 units long.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

1011.05

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's use 3 as an example.

The angle of depression is the one directly under the ballon.

You also know that the 53 degree angle is part of a 90 degree angle.

so the angle inside the triangle directly under the balloon is 37 degrees.

You know the angle and you know the side from the balloon to the ground is 1680.  This is the hypotenuse of the triangle.

So which trig function could you use to determine how high the balloon is from the ground?

SOH CAH TOA

cos 37 = a/1680

a = 1341.71
