Answer:

PREFACE

FROM THE PREFACE TO THE ENGLISH EDITION OF “MARK TWAIN’S SKETCHES”

If I were to sell the reader a barrel of molasses, and he, instead of sweetening his substantial dinner with the same at judicious intervals, should eat the entire barrel at one sitting, and then abuse me for making him sick, I would say that he deserved to be made sick for not knowing any better how to utilize the blessings this world affords. And if I sell to the reader this volume of nonsense, and he, instead of seasoning his graver reading with a chapter of it now and then, when his mind demands such relaxation, unwisely overdoses himself with several chapters of it at a single sitting, he will deserve to be nauseated, and he will have nobody to blame but himself if he is. There is no more sin in publishing an entire volume of nonsense than there is in keeping a candy-store with no hardware in it. It lies wholly with the customer whether he will injure himself by means of either, or will derive from them the benefits which they will afford him if he uses their possibilities judiciously.

Respectfully submitted,

THE AUTHOR.

V. Underline the correct form of the word.
PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

1. Hard

2. slow

3. angry

4. quietly

5. commonly

6. brave

7. brightly

8. stressful

9. fast

10. generous

Explanation:

Adverbs: describe the action that is happening. In number four, the children are PLAYING quietLY. Adverbs add the "LY" at the end of a describing word.

When you are just describing a noun, you don't need to add the "LY." So in number 2, you are describing the internet connection (a thing) and you would just say it is "slow" not "slowly."

One concept of a (n) ________ is a society in which each individual maintained his or her ________ yet collaborates with others
PSYCHO15rus [73]

Answer:

Utopia; autonomy.

Explanation:

Utopia can be defined as a type of society that is typically characterized by ideal perfections and as such the people living there are mainly happy, as well as working well with each other.

This ultimately implies that, one concept of an utopia is a society in which each individual maintained his or her autonomy yet collaborates with others to achieve the good for all.

However, a utopian society is just a figment of people's imagination or perception and as a result doesn't exist in reality. Thus, it is not a reflection of what is obtainable in the real world because no society can ever have an ideally and totally perfect condition, law, government and people.
