For the protection of U.S. consumers, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) closely regulates product labels, requiring manufac

turers to list all of the ingredients in a product. On food labels, the ingredients are listed in order of quantity, so you know that there is more of the first ingredient than any other ingredient. For product labels, the quantity of each ingredient may be less important than the actual effect of the ingredient. Therefore, active ingredients are often separated from the inactive ingredients. Review the label from a common brand of mouthwash and answer the questions.
Match the words to the appropriate blanks in the sentences. Make certain each sentence is complete before submitting your answer.

Answer:

1. alcohol is the highest concentration active ingredient.

2. According to the label, its purpose in the mouthwash is to freshen breath, fight plaque and gingivitis .

3. cetylpyridinium chloride is the highest concentration inactive ingredient.

Explanation:

The active ingredients are those that act directly as a treatment to eliminate a certain situation that the product is willing to fight. Inactive ingredients, however, have no direct action in this regard and do not act as a treatment, but have functions related to the composition and structure of the product, for example. In addition, on a label, the active and inactive ingredients that are in the highest concentrations in the product composition are listed first.

In this case, we can say that according to the label shown in the question above, alcohol is the active ingredient with the highest concentration, while cetylpyridinium chloride is the inactive ingredient with the lowest concentration.

In response to a decrease in tissue metabolic activity, tissue oxygen concentrations ________, which causes a(n) ________. In re
Stels [109]

Answer:

The correct answer is - increase: constriction of the arterioles.

Explanation:

When the physical activity is decreased by the tissues of the muscle, the oxygen concentration in the tissue increases which leads to the constriction of the arterioles.

It takes place in order to decrease blood flow and blood pressure as oxygen requirement is less in the tissue in decreased physical metabolic activity. The constriction of arterioles results in more resistance to decrease the blood flow in capillaries.

Even though DNA and RNA share many characteristics, they are different molecules. How are DNA and RNA different? Include in your
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

  • Function: DNA includes instructions on how to create the protein and RNA assists in the actual production/synthesis or protein
  • Structure: DNA has a double helix while RNA is single-stranded
  • Nitrogenous bases: C and G bases always pair with one another. In DNA, Adenine pairs with Thymine. In RNA, Adenine pairs with Uracil
  • Sugar: DNA has deoxyribose sugar and RNA has ribose sugar
  • Strand count: DNA has 2, RNA has 1
