Pargo v. Elliot--this case was the beginning of women arguing they do not receive equal treatment to other prisoners.

Though the case was overturned and no just cause was found, it did bring attention to the issue of treatment of prisoners. In particular, women prisons being so few have been cited as having poor health programs and not as many educational programs as men.

Answer:

Gandhi used a non-violent policy to fight the British and this influenced Martin Luther King.

Explanation:

Gandhi promoted the struggle for Indian independence against the British peacefully, without promoting any act of violence. This was very inspiring for King, who decided to take the same stand in his fight for civil rights, always claiming that Gandhi was the guide to the protests he promoted. King maintained the non-violent protests, even though he was the victim of several violent acts, as well as his followers.

What is the primary difference between normative and positive economics?
Olenka [21]

Answer:

Governments use normative economics, and businesses use  positive economics.

Explanation:

Normative economics concentrates on the importance of economic equity, or what the marketplace 'should be' or 'ought to be' whether positive economics is based on experience and cannot be confirmed or disallowed, normative economics is established on worth judgments. An example of positive economics is, an increment in tax rates eventually results in a reduction in total tax wealth. On the other hand, normative economics is, unemployment hurts an economy more than inflation.

what problems caused the government to create the interstate commerce comission and the sherman antitrust act? what were the lon
Slav-nsk [51]
I don't know too much about the commerce commission but the sherman antitrust act was created due to bad trusts abusing their powers of having national power over a certain product and therefore holding a monopoly and a sort of dictatorship in a certain field. The sherman antitrust act was the first time the government officially intervened with private businesses and laborers. Pretty much the trusts overworked workers and skyrocketed prices and people complained. I'm blanking on the word for when "the government doesn't interfere with private businesses" but the government finally interfered with this act.
