How and why were slaves humiliated by their slave masters? What laws limited their right to an education?

Slaves we humiliated because they had no rights. They were thought as being low for many many many years even before America was born. There were no laws protecting their rights because they had none. Jim Crow laws were born when slaves had their freedom after the civil war. And even if there were schools for African Americans many of them weren't funded enough to even have buses.
