= 8/5b + 2 + 10/3b - 4
combine like terms

= (8/5b + 10/3b) + (2 - 4)
convert to a common denominator of 15 to be able to add fractions

= (24/15b + 50/15b) - 2
add inside parentheses

= 74/15b - 2

ANSWER: 74/15b - 2

Hope this helps! :)

lorasvet [3.4K]

Answer:

2100

Step-by-step explanation:

5% of 2000 = 2000 x 1/20 = 100.

2000+100=2100

Also, if it said how much interest will her investment PAY, then it would be $100 because of the 5% simple interest.

What arethe coordinates of the following point
yarga [219]

Answer:

(a) Lying on both axes-

Point lying on both axes will lie on origin, so its coordinate is (0,0)

(b) Lying on x-axis and with x-coordinates 4

Since the point lies on x-axis so its y-coordinate is 0, so its coordinate is (4,0)

(c) Lying on y-axis and y-coordinates -3

Since the point lies on y-axis so its x-coordinate is 0, so its coordinate is (0,-3)

What is the value of b that makes the lines, given by 3x-y=4 and 2y+4bx=1, perpendicular?
USPshnik [31]

b = 1/6

Explanation:

3x-y=4 ...1st equation

Rewriting in slope- intercept form:

y = 3x - 4

2y+4bx=1

Rewriting in slope- intercept form:

2y = -4bx + 1

y = -4bx/2 + 1/2

Equation of line: y = mx + c

where m = slope, c = intercept

For a line to be perpendicular to another, the slope of one will be the negative reciprocal of the slope of another.

Slope of the 1st equation = 3

m = 3

reciprocal of 3 = 1/3

negative reciprocal of 3 = -1/3

Slope of the 2nd equation = -4b/2

we equate both slope:

negative reciprocal of 3 = -4b/2

-1/3 = -4b/2

cross multiply:

-1(2) = 3(-4b)

-2 = -12b

Divide both sides by -12:

-2/-12 = -12b/-12

b = 1/6

Hence, the value of b that makes the lines perpendicular is 1/6
