Answer:

1.Here are the steps:

1. Plan what you intend to write. This includes selecting a topic, choosing sources, and doing research. All of these steps will give you the information you need to write your paper with accuracy.

2. Prepare a first draft. This gets your ideas down on paper and provides a starting place for your writing.

3. Edit and correct the first draft. This is your chance to revise and correct any spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors. It also lets you add and delete information.

4. Write a final draft. This is the paper you will turn in as the finished project and should be free of any errors.

2.Brainstorming is a good way to quickly gather ideas on paper. It helps create a plan in the writer’s mind and makes it easier to know where to start writing.

In a cover letter, try to include the name of the hiring manager so you can address the letter to that person. Find out what the position you're applying for requires so you can explain how your job experience and education meet those qualifications.

jok3333 [9.3K]

Answer:

The correct answers are:

11. brave – braver – bravest

12. distinct – more distinct – most distinct

13. bad – worse – worst

14. high – higher – highest

15. active – more active – most active

16. long – longer – longest

17. large – larger – largest

18. square – squarer – squarest

19. beautiful – more beautiful – most beautiful

20. eternal – absolute

21. practical – more practical – most practical

22. lazy – lazier – laziest

23. empty – emptier – emptiest

24. fat – fatter - fattest

Explanation:

We use comparative to compare similarities or differences between people and things.

We make comparative adjectives when we add the termination -er to the end of the word (for one-syllable words), or we use the form more + adjective (for two, three, or more syllable adjectives).

We use superlative to describe the extreme quality of things or persons.

We form the superlative when we add the termination -est at the end of an adjective or by using the construction most + adjective.

An absolute adjective represents a non-gradable adjective that does not have comparative or superlative, so it cannot be graded.

For example: dead, unique, ideal, eternal, sufficient, whole, etc.

Read the paragraph.
garri49 [273]

Answer:

Personification is used to show the power of the storm.

Explanation:

Personification and hyperbole are two types of figure of speech. The first one takes place when non-human objects like animals, elements of nature, emotions or things, are given human attributes, and hyperbole takes place when we use exaggerated words or phrases that are obviously false in order to emphasize or to add humor.

In the excerpt, the speaker is not talking in an exaggerated manner or using words that are obviously false because a storm can indeed continue for hours, thunders can be deafening, lightning can be strong...

However, the speaker does use personification because it describes lightning as something that takes the night from completely black to light as if lightning had the conscious will of holding with its hands something. Furthermore, the speaker uses personification to show the power of the storm: It was so mighty and powerful that it continued for hours, and had mighty thunders and lightnings.
