T = Terrill's age
C = Cranston's age

Using the info provided:
C + 4 = T
T + 2 = 2C

Isolate variable:

T = 2C - 2

Your two equations:
C + 4 = T
T = 2C - 2

Set them equal to eachother:
C + 4 = 2C - 2

Solve for C

Cranston's Age = 6

Solve for T using your equation:

Terrill's age = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

15x-4y=62 ---------------------------(i)

5x+8y=86-----------------------------(ii) X 3

15x+24y=258---------------------------(iii)

(iii)-(i)

28y = 196

y = 7

Sub. for y in (I) to get x

A software developer wants to know how many new computer games people buy each year. A sample of 1233 people was taken to study
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

The 99% confidence interval for the mean number of computer games purchased each year is between 7.3 and 7.5 games.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have that to find our \alpha level, that is the subtraction of 1 by the confidence interval divided by 2. So:

\alpha = \frac{1-0.99}{2} = 0.005

Now, we have to find z in the Ztable as such z has a pvalue of 1-\alpha.

So it is z with a pvalue of 1-0.005 = 0.995, so z = 2.575

Now, find the margin of error M as such

M = z*\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

In which \sigma is the standard deviation of the population and n is the size of the sample.

M = 2.575\frac{1.4}{\sqrt{1233}} = 0.1

The lower end of the interval is the sample mean subtracted by M. So it is 7.4 - 0.1 = 7.3.

The upper end of the interval is the sample mean added to M. So it is 7.4 + 0.1 = 7.5

The 99% confidence interval for the mean number of computer games purchased each year is between 7.3 and 7.5 games.

Pythagorean theorem - please help
Artist 52 [7]

answer:

x = 4\sqrt{2} or 5.6568

step-by-step explanation:

  • know the formula and plug in

formula: a^2 + b^2 = c^2

  • now plug in what we have
  • whatever the RIGHT ANGLE points to is the HYPOTENUSE or c
  • the other two sides are the "legs" or a and b

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

7^2 + b^2 = 9^2

49 + b^2 = 81

b^2 = 32

b = 4\sqrt{2}

  • in this case, b would be used as x

x = 4\sqrt{2} or 5.6568 (exact value)
