A counterclaim is a reason someone disagrees with a position. Option A is correct.

Counterclaim is denined as a statement that someone makes in response to a statement that has been made by someone else, and that is different from it.

which type of clouds cannot stand on its own but depends on authors sentence express a complete thought
otez555 [7]
The answer is, "Subordinate clause."

A subordinate clause is also known as a dependent clause, which is the opposite of an independent clause. An independent clause is a part of a sentence that can stand on its own and can still technically be a valid sentence. A dependent clause depends on the main clause to form a complete sentence.
