I assume that by aggressive verb you mean a verb which shows the most emotion - because there is no such thing as an aggressive verb in grammar. Anyway, based on that understanding, I believe the correct answer is 1. batter.
To batter means to hit hard over and over again, which to me shows a lot of aggression, which is why I'd choose that option. The other options do not show the same emotion.

I'd say complications.  It wouldn't be cause because the said conflict is already a problem.  A reaction has nothing to do with the problem getting worse itself.  Resolutions are when the problem is resolved.  I think it would be complications, because it's making the conflict worse than it already was.
