One of the main functions of the chloroplast is its role in photosynthesis, the process by which light is transformed into chemical energy, to subsequently produce food in the form of sugars. Water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2) are used in photosynthesis, and sugar and oxygen (O2) is made, using light energy.
so it necessary to have six co2 entering the chloroplast to make 6 carbon glucose

Answer:

In order to produce the 6-carbon glucose molecule and regenerate RUBP.

Explanation:

Plants undergo two stages in photosynthesis, one which is the light dependent reaction is used to produce ATP and NADPH needed for the next stage, which is the light independent stage or C3 or Calvin cycle.

In the Calvin cycle, Carbon is fixed when CO2, which enters via the stomata is accepted by Ribulosephosphate (RUBP) to produce an unstable 6-car-on compound which disintegrates into 3-phosphoglycerate (PGA). The PGA undergoes reduction and phosphorylation by ATP and NADPH to produce Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (G3P). The G-3-P either continues the cycle in order to regenerate RUBP or leaves the cycle to produce glucose.

CO2 can only be fixed one at a time. Since G-3-P is a 3-carbon compound, it takes 3 molecules of CO2 to enter the cycle in order to produce 1 G3P molecule that will leave the cycle i.e 3 molecules of CO2 enters the cycle to produce 6 molecules of G3P, one molecule leaves the cell and 5 molecules are used to regenerate RUBP.

Hence, since, glucose is a 6-carbon compound, 2 molecules of 3-carbon G3P will be required. To get 2 molecules of G3P that will leave the cycle to produce glucose, 6 molecules of CO2 will need to be fixed in the stroma of the CHLOROPLAST.

Equal masses of granite, iron, copper, and lead are placed in sunlight. Based on specific heat, which material will warm up the
levacccp [35]

Answer:

Lead

Explanation:

The material that will warm up the fastest would be lead.

The specific heat capacity of a substance is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of a unit of the substance by one degree. The higher the specific heat capacity of a substance, the higher the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of the substance and vice versa.

The specific heat capacity (in J/g °C) of granite, iron, copper, and lead are as follows:

Granite - 0.790

Iron - 0.450

Copper - 0.385

Lead - 0.129

From the table, lead has the lowest specific heat capacity, hence, it will be the fastest to get warmed when equal masses of all the substances are placed in the sunlight.

In the Earth's mantle, heat is transferred in large convection currents. Within these currents,
yarga [219]

Answer:

D. hotter rock rises and cooler rock sinks.

Explanation:

We know that as we move towards Earth's center, the temperature rises. This rise in temperature causes rocks to melt (magma). The high temperature and melting of rocks decrease the density of material which makes it move upward. By moving upward, the molten rock starts turning solid and becomes denser again. Here, it sinks back due to gravity. This upward and downward movement of rocks due to density and temperature makes a convection cell.

PS: The formation of convection cells in Earth's interior is also the reason for plate tectonics.

Describe the route of a reflex impulse in the somatic system
Sholpan [36]
Take for example - you touching something sharp and instantly moving your hand away.

Sensory neurons in your fingers detect the external stimuli of the sharp object and send a nerve impulse to the spinal cord (does not reach brain) and is sent back to a motor neurone - attached to an effector that moves the muscle and moves the hand away. This is a rapid reflex action and involuntary.

The best exercise workout to suggest to a client is a/an
Tamiku [17]
D. Combination of exercises which the client can enjoy and likes.

For most people, exercise is a taxing. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes the kind of exercise to be done makes it even harder to do. That’s why it is very important for a workout to be a combination of exercises that a person likes or enjoys. This may involve plenty of trial and error. However, most people already have a hobby or a certain activity that they like to do. To make an exercise or workout effective, it would be best to tap into their interests.
