V = l * w * h

l = 5 1/4

W = 3 1/2

H = 4

\test{V} = \dfrac{21}{4} * \dfrac{4}{1} * \dfrac{7}{2} = \dfrac{147}{2} = 73 \dfrac{1}{2} \text{  Answer}

Notes

1. I've used 4/1 rather than 4 as one of the dimensions. 4/1 is easier to see

2. The 4s cancel in the first step. That makes both the numerator and denominator easier to read.]

3. In decimal form the answer is 73.5

Getting enough sleep. 400 students were randomly sampled from a large university, and 289 said they did not get enough sleep. Co
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

Yes, Hypothesis test represents a statistically significant difference from 50% .

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that 400 students were randomly sampled from a large university, and 289 said they did not get enough sleep.

Let Null Hypothesis, H_0 : p = 0.50 {means from the students sampled from the university, proportion of them who did not get enough sleep is 50%}

Alternate Hypothesis, H_1 : p \neq 0.50 {means from the students sampled from the university, proportion of them who did not get enough sleep is different from 50%}

The test statistics we will use here is;

        T.S. = \frac{\hat p - p}{\sqrt{\frac{\hat p(1-\hat p)}{n} } } ~ N(0,1)

where, \hat p = sample proportion = 289/400 = 0.7225

            n = sample of students = 400

So, test statistics = \frac{0.7225 - 0.50}{\sqrt{\frac{0.7225(1-0.7225)}{400} } } = 3.143

<em>Now, at 1% level of significance, z table gives critical value of 2.5758. Since our test statistics is more than the critical value which means test statistics will lie in the rejection region, so we have sufficient evidence to reject null hypothesis.</em>

Therefore, we conclude that from the students sampled from the university, proportion of them who did not get enough sleep is different from 50%.

Maren is completing a wood working project. She needs 90 feet of wood. She has 8 pieces of wood that are each 6.2 feet long in h
Over [174]

Answer:

<u>She needs 40.4 feet of wood.</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

➾ She had 8 pieces of wood that are 6.2 feet each, so <u>total length of wood she had</u> = 8×6.2

= <u>49.6feet</u>.

➾She needs total 90feet. of wood and she had already 49.6 feet of wood.

So, now wood she needed = 90-49.6

= <u>40.4feet</u><u>.</u>
