A “dream life” is subjective to many people. While idealistically in America’s eye a dream life would likely be wealth, being extremely successful, perhaps famous, etc. But for a minority like me who is gay, I’d love for there to be a world where there wouldn’t have to be a “coming out” style and not simply expecting the default to be heterosexual. If the human race had been more open-minded and accepting progression would go as far as working together to solve things without divisibility or worrying about being disowned or if it caters towards your families beliefs. Huge storm clouds start to appear in the sky as we set out. We wanted to run away as fast as possible. We entered a car together, keeping quiet the whole time. As we drew out of the city, we have noticed the thunder blasting over the sky behind us. I have jumped a little in my seat. It only occurred to me then to call my mother. I took a mobile phone – it had enough battery to last through the day. The call took me to voice mail. “Hi mum, just to tell you we’re safe and on our way, in case you hear something on the news,” I said into the mobile phone, trying to sound as calm as possible. When I ended the call, I looked at him driving. Without taking his eyes off the road, he squeezed my hand silently. Finally, that tiny support calmed me down. We will be fine.
The Wechsler Objective Language Dimensions (WOLD; Wechsler, 1996) is a
UK standardisation of the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-R),
developed in the United States (US). It involves the evaluation of six
elements: (1) organisation, (2) unity and coherence, (3) vocabulary, (4)
grammar and usage, (5) capitalisation and (6) punctuation. Individual
scores for each domain are computed and then collated into a total
score.
