The chemical compounds of living things are known as the organic compounds because of there association with organisms. Organic compounds, which are compounds associated with life processes, are the subject matter of organic chemistry. <span />

Organic compounds are chemical substances that are composed by a chemical element in particular: carbon and this in turn forms bonds with another carbon or with a hydrogen. The word is directly related to it´s meaningsince from it´s etymologycal roots, they are the qualifier assigned to everything related to life.
