Wouldn’t it be 8? I’m not math genius but 12 is the total of cars and is also x. So it would be 12-4 which is 8?

It should be 4 cars because there are 8 cars each with 4 wheels that is 32 and there are 4 bicycles each with 2 wheel 8 x 4 = 32 and 4 x 2 = 8    32+8=40 wheels

A store is having a sale on walnuts and chocolate chips. For 3 pounds of walnuts and 5 pounds of chocolate chips, the total cost
Liono4ka [1.6K]

Answer:Walnuts cost $1.25 and chocolate chips cost $3.25

Step-by-step explanation: Make walnuts x and chocolate chips y.

3x+5y=20

6x+2y=14

Multiply the first equation by 2 and then subtract it from the second.

-(6x+10y=40)

6x+2y=14

-8y=-26

y=3.25

Plug y back into either equation and isolate x to solve for x.

6x+2(3.25)=14

6x+6.5=14

6x=7.5

x=1.25

Please help I don't know this and it's due today

5 - x = 12
attashe74 [19]
5 - x = 12

We're essentially just trying to get "x" onto its own side.

So, simply subtract 5 from both sides.

-x = 12 - 5

Simplify.

-x = 7

Now, divide both sides by -1.

x = -7

~Hope I helped!~

galina1969 [7]

-- Cut the sheet in half.

-- Put one half-sheet on top of the other half-sheet.
Cut the stack of 2 halves in half.

-- Put one stack of two quarter-sheets on top of the other stack of quarter-sheets.
Cut the stack of 4 quarters in half.

Now you have eight one-eighth sheets.

Three cuts.
Taking Sam (3 x 5) = 15 minutes, plus a few seconds for set-up between cuts.
