Lincoln's purpose is to unite the Nation. Even though the Civil War was close to it's end, with the Union side clearly overpowering the south, it wasn't all so certain yet, this was  Lincoln second and last term, ending the war as soon as possible was the first priority of his administration. The president noticed that both North and South pray, they both read the same bible and they both believe in the same God, therefore he used a biblical quote in his speech, so both sides could note it.

The purpose of the speech was to talk about the war and the differences in the north and the south. The quote there is important because he believed that the war was punishment from god for having slavery. Because history went the way it did, both north and south were at fault and the war was a way of punishing people for ever having slavery as an institution.

kiruha [24]

Answer:

Winning the legal right to bargain collectively and go on strike.

Explanation:

Just as it happened with other labor movements in the world, 19th-century American labor movements mobilized to improve workers´conditions, to gain legals rights that included the right to strike. Some organizations like the Knights of Labor, also had some political goals, but other major union groups did not share that purpose; they founded the American Federation of Labor.

What were Lincoln beliefs about the separation of the Union
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

He gave several reasons, among them his belief that secession was unlawful, the fact that states were physically unable to separate, his fears that secession would cause the weakened government to descend into anarchy, and his steadfast conviction that all Americans should be friends towards one another, rather than enemies. But it may have been the last point that he considered the most important to his argument: Secession would destroy the only democracy in existence and prove for all time - to both future Americans and the world - that a government of the people could not survive.
