World War 1 brought a series of technological advances that would change the way people live. For example, synthetic rubber was introduced and it dramatically changed the automotive industry. In medicine, the introduction of blood banks meant that it was now possible to store blood instead of having to directly transfer it from donor to recipient. Debridement, which is the removal of infected flesh in order to heal wounds, was also developed during this period.

This shifted the appliance of science into creations that would be used for mass consumption in order to improve the quality of living of people.

Which answer best describes President Johnson's role in Reconstruction?
telo118 [61]

Answer:

Johnson rejected many of the goals of Reconstruction by vetoing bills that would increase the rights of the former slaves.

Explanation:

Andrew Johnson entered presidency upon the death of the abolitionist Abraham Lincoln in 1865. As Lincoln's former Vice President, Johnson was expected to make policies similar to Lincoln's and achieve the goals of Reconstruction. However, once Johnson was in office, he took a different approach to the situation: he failed to make policies that protected the right of newly freed slaves and that kept them safe after the Civil War and failed to regulate the Southern States. Instead, Johnson granted thousands of pardons to white Southerners, wealthy planters and Confederate leaders and allowed some of them to return to power and to have their property back.

What was order 9066 and how did it affect the japanese americans?
LuckyWell [14K]
Order 9066 was a World War 2 policy that had long term consequences for the Japanese Americans. The order allowed the Army to "evacuate" anyone that they thought was a threat to National Security.

It affected the Japanese Americans severely. The order forced more than 120,000 Japanese to relocate. They were relocated to 1 of the 10 internment camps  around the U.S.  (Internment = putting someone into some sort of prison..) They put the Japanese into these camps in fear that they were loyal to Japan.
