George W. Harkins, the chief of the Choctaw, identifies freedom, a disparity of perspective between the legislators of Mississippi and the Choctaw such that they could not understand certain laws, and that more or less they were being pushed out as they no longer had confidence that their lands would be secure in the future. And finally, in contrast, the answer is the dislike of the Mississippi people. Harkins says they have friends to the East of the Mississippi and they will have friends West of it, too.
