The Mid-Atlantic colonies had economy based are farming grains and oats, though there was also nice income from logging and paper-making. The Northern colonies had economy based around fishing, whaling, as well as shipbuilding. All of the colonies had different development over time because of the differences in what where their economies based around, with some being more successful than others.
