The correct answer is - Tethys Ocean.

The Tethys Ocean was an ocean that was situated between the European and African continents, through what is now the Middle East and parts of Central Asia, and the northern half of the Indian Ocean. Because of the geologic activities, mainly the movement of the Indian plate towards Asia, and the Alpine orogenesis, the ocean was becoming smaller and smaller, and it started to be divided into smaller pieces, until it totally disappeared. One of the remains of this ocean is the largest lake in the world, the Caspian Lake, often referred to as Caspian Sea, and it can easily be seen that this body of water was once part of a much bigger body of water with saline water, because it itself has saline waters.

Further Explanation:

Tethys Ocean:

It is referred to as Tethys Sea or Neotethys. In the Mesozoic era, it is located between the continents of Laurasia and Gondwana. The ocean is divided into two parts those are eastern part (known as Eastern Tethys) and western part (known as Paratethys or Western Tethys). The Aral, Black, and Caspian Sea are the crustal remnants of the western Tethys Ocean. Caspian Sea get separated from the Tethys Ocean or became landlocked due to the fall in sea level and uplift in tectonic plates.

Why dose Canada have such a low population density
Nataly [62]
A large part of that land area is not conducive to farming or general use. The Canadian Shield covers about a third of the nation. The Arctic permafrost probably covers another third. You cannot farm in either of these areas and the cost of building roads and infrastructure in or through these areas is very high. Other areas have land that could be used for farming but the season is too short. On the lands that are arable, Canadians are reasonably densely populated.

As to softened immigration process, the percentage of permanent residents (generally recent immigrants) has remained fairly steady at less than or at 1% of the population for at least 50 years. Since the birthrates for multi generational Canadians (Canadians whose grand parents or before were immigrants) is so low, Canada needs immigrants to maintain the population at a sustainable level. Yet the processes have not gotten easier. The most recent iteration of the Immigration act has extended the time required for a landed immigrant to live in Canada before being eligible for citizenship (from three years in five to four years in six).
