1. Russia always has harsh winters, in this case Napoleons army wa snot ready for such inconvenience. They froze, starved, and some eventually died.

2. Russia had a scorched earth policy, in which they burned crops, farms, and supplies. They abandoned cities, such as the capital, and left everything empty for the French. As the French arrived there was no one in the cities, but there was also nothing the French could use for their advantage. After some time, the French ran out of supplies and food, and to make it even worse, this was the time of the harsh winters. The French army was weak and was unable to fight back the Russian army which attacked the weakened army afterwards, and made them flee all the way back to France.

Answer:

No, I don’t think the Brown court would have said that people could be separated by race on a train. Brown fought against segregation in schools because it was unconstitutional and violated the 14th Amendment. I can’t see why they would agree with segregation in other institutions.

The Plessy case, which occurred quite a bit earlier than the Brown case, ruled that segregation was okay as long as it was “separate but equal.” If it was Plessy v. Brown, Brown could have made the argument that “If it has to be separate, it’s not truly equal.” There’s no reason to divide the people unless there’s unfair treatment involved.

Did the 1848 revolutions represent more a victory or a defeat for nationalism in germany and italy ?
Brilliant_brown [7]

Revolutions of 1848, series of republican revolts against European monarchies, beginning in Sicily, and spreading to France, Germany, Italy, and the Austrian Empire.

They all ended in failure and repression, and were followed by widespread disillusionment among liberals.

Explanation:

The 1848 revolutions failed throughout Italy due to a combination of several contributing factors, most importantly these included; foreign intervention, the refusal of the Pope to support the revolutions, lack of involvement from the masses and also lack of national leadership and aims.
