In this passage from Walden, what analogy is Thoreau using?
zloy xaker [14]

Henry David Thoreau was an American essayist, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax resister, development critic, surveyor, and historian, two of his greatest works are: "Resistance to Civil Government" (also known as "Civil Disobedience") and "The Mask of Anarchy". His ideals can be summarized by this statement: “the Government should not have more power than the bestowed by its citizens”.

Henry David Thoreau was even imprisoned for refusing to pay taxes in protest for the Mexican-American War and the slavery.

In this passage from Walden, Thoreau the analogy is:

He is comparing life to a moving train

Here we have the evidence to support the analogy:

Let us spend one day as deliberately as Nature, and not be thrown off the track by every nutshell and mosquito's wing that falls on the rails.

Please help me.
Virty [35]
Well, to give you some inspiration for what to write I can give you reasons I would think you’d want to continue going 2-3 days.
The reasons why 2-3 days is better is because it is more efficient. It alleviates the stress of a 5 day school week, with loads of homework. With 2-3 days you can take more time to narrow your focus, learn and absorb the information taught and you’re able to get your homework done without as much stress, because you have more time to do so. Hope this helps!

How has the right to vote changed since the constitution was ratified ?
ss7ja [257]

At first, only rich white men could vote. During Jackson's time, the common white man was giving the right to vote. During Reconstruction (the period after the Civil War) voting could no longer be denied on race or color because of the 15th Amendment, but this still only applied to men. Women got the right to vote with the 19th Amendment in 1920.
