<em><u></u></em>

Further Explanations:

During the 19th century, rapid industrialization and urbanization occurred in the United States. The era is also termed as the Progressive era that emphasized on removing the obstacles that were coming on the way of urbanization, settlement, and Industrialization. Since the movement was grounded at the local level but soon took the face of a nationwide movement gaining support mainly from middle-class citizens. Progressive reforms in the levy increased the assets of the government and also attempted to summarize the tax incidence for the individual having minimum ability to pay such taxes. These reforms diminished the societal glitches associated with high-income disproportion.

Huge number of immigrants from the rural areas settled in the urban area in search of employment and money. Though vacancies were not much and many of them remained idle. Their situation brought them to the edge of starvation and at that time these religious groups helped them with food and shelter.
