I may be wrong but I think for one, the answer is 5 and for the second, 4.

6+4=10 so 5+x=10 making x 5.
5+3=8 so 4+x=8 making x 4.

A carousel has 30 cars. Determine the angle of rotation that maps #6 to car #19.
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:  The answer is 260°.

Step-by-step explanation: Given that a Carousel has 30 cars. We need to find the angle of rotation which maps car no. 6 to car no. 19.

Now, the Carousel will make a regular polygon with 30 sides and each car as a vertex.

So, angle of symmetry for the polygon is

\theta=\dfrac{360^\circ}{30}=20^\circ.

Number of sides from car 6 to car 19 = 19 - 6 = 13.

Therefore, the angle of rotation that maps car 6 to car 19 is given by

\alpha=13\times \theta=13\times 20^\circ=260^\circ.

Thus, the required angle of rotation is 260^\circ.

Write the difference in factored form. (24x4 - 15x2 + 6x) - (10x4 + 5x2 - 4x)
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

The factored difference is: 2x(7x^3 - 10x + 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Difference in non factored form:

To find the difference in non-factored form, we subtract the common terms. So

24x^4 - 15x^2 + 6x - (10x^4 + 5x^2 - 4x) = 24x^4 - 10x^4 - 15x^2 - 5x^2 + 6x + 4x = 14x^4 - 20x^2 + 10x

Greatest common factor:

Of the exponents: Between x^4, x^2 and x, it is the one with the lowest exponent, so x.

Between 14, 20 and 10:

14 - 20 - 10|2

7 - 10 - 5

So 2

The gcf is 2x, which means that the factored expression is:

2x(\frac{14x^4}{2x} - \frac{20x^2}{2x} + \frac{10x}{2x}) = 2x(7x^3 - 10x + 5)

The factored difference is: 2x(7x^3 - 10x + 5)

At the park, there is a triangular sandbox with base = 12ft and height = 4ft. A drawing of the sandbox is shown above. Brie want
sammy [17]

Your question is not clear, but it looks as though you want to know how Brie can make a similar sandbox with base = 8ft.

Answer:

For Brie to make a similar sandbox, he must use a base = 8ft, and height = (8/3)ft

Step-by-step explanation:

It is possible for Brie to make a similar triangular sandbox with base = 12ft and height = 4ft.

All he must ensure is that the ratio of base to height of the original sandbox is the same ratio of base to height of the one he is trying to make.

The original sandbox is 12:4

Because he wants to use a base = 8ft, the sandbox he is trying to make is 8:x

Where x is the height of the sandbox he is trying to make.

Then for these sandboxes to be similar, the ratio 12:4 = 8:x

=> 12/4 = 8/x

12x = 8 × 4

12x = 32

x = 8/3

The height must be (8/3)ft
