Answer:

C. $50,000

Explanation:

The computation of the Mabel's capital account after formation of the partnership account is shown below:

Total contribution by both the partners equals to

= Mabel contribution + Pierre contribution

= $25,000 + $50,000

= $75,000

Mabel contribution = Total contribution × Mabel share ÷ total share

                                = $75,000 × 4 ÷ 10

                                = $30,000

And, the land was sold for $50,000

So, Mabel share on the sale of land = $50,000 × 4 ÷ 10 = $20,000

Total amount recorded = $30,000 + $20,000 = $50,000

20. Which of the following is not a difference between monopolies and perfectly competitive markets? a. Monopolies can earn prof
Naily [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is option c.

Explanation:

A perfectly competitive market has a large number of buyers and sellers. The firms are price takers and the price is determined by the market forces. Thus the monopoly firms face a horizontal demand curve. This horizontal line represents price, average revenue, and marginal revenue. The equilibrium is obtained where price, (average revenue and marginal revenue) is equal to marginal cost. There is no restriction on entry and exit of firms in the long run. That's why firms face a break-even in the long run.

While in a monopoly market there is a single firm. This firm fixes price higher than marginal cost. The demand curve of the monopoly is a downward sloping showing relatively elastic demand. A monopoly firm can earn profits in both the short run as well as the long run.

The YTM on a 2 year zero coupon bond is 5% and the YTM on a 1 year zero coupon bond is 3%. What does the no-arbitrage condition
tresset_1 [31]

Answer:

$111.11 or 111.11% of face value

Explanation:

Assuming the face value of $100 for all bonds (without loss of generality)

If the two year coupon bond is repackaged as a one year zero coupon bond paying $12 after one year and another two year bond paying $112 after 2 years, the price of the two zero coupon bonds are given as

Price of one year Zero coupon bond = 12/1.05 = $11.43 (one year ZCB has YTM of 5%)

Price of two year Zero coupon bond = 112/1.06^2 = $99.68 (two year ZCB has YTM of 6%)

So, one can sell the repackaged bonds at a price = $11.43+ $99.68 = $111.11 or 111.11% of face value
