Answer:

solution is x=3

Step-by-step explanation:

logx-log3=log(x-2)

apply log property

log a- log b= log a/b

logx-log3=log(x-2)\\log (\frac{x}{3} )=log(x-2)

we have log on both sides

so we remove the log and make the arguments equal

\frac{x}{3} = x-2

solve for x, multiply whole equation by 3

x=3(x-2)\\x=3x-6\\x-3x=-6\\-2x=-6\\x=3

now plug in 3 for x  and check

logx-log3=log(x-2)\\log3-log3=log(3-2)\\0=0

solution is x=3

When a number decreased by 10% the result in 63. What is the number?
Ugo [173]
The number is 69.3 because percent means 0.01, so 10 x 0.01 = 1.1
so 1.1 x 63 = 69.3. you can also do 63 x 10% = 69.3.

A jar of natural peanut butter normally cost four dollars today it's on sale for $3.60 what is the percentage of the discount
kakasveta [241]
$4 is the original price of the jar consisting of peanut butter so therefor it = 100%. It's for sale at $3.60, so we divide $4 by 100% so we get the percentage for each cent and then we times it by 3.60 to get the percentage for $3.60 which is 90%. Now we subtract 90% from 100% to get the discounted percentage for 40cents :)
