PLEASEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The writing process is a collection of strategies unique to each individual writer. Writers continually

evolve and adjust their strategies as they become more experienced. When you finish a writing assignment, how do you grow as a writer? Part of bettering your own writing is applying the feedback you receive from past assignments. One way to do that is through peer review. Peer reviews can offer a fresh lens on areas that need improvement. Using a previous writing example, explain how the feedback you received was helpful in improving your writing. Explain ways in which future peer reviews would be helpful. What advice would you give to students who take this course in the future who haven’t experienced a peer review of their writing?

1. The more you practice writing, the better you become. You cannot just simply learn a skill without practicing and working hard on it. So when you finish a particular assignment, you learn a lot of new things, you learn what you could change, and then implement that knowledge into your next assignment.

2. Peer review is of extreme importance because you get someone else's insight into your own assignment. You may be biased when analyzing your own work, but if you get someone to review it for you, you will learn what you should change, work on, and improve so that you can be better in the future.

3. I would definitely suggest that they get someone to review their work because it can be quite useful. I can understand that not everyone is comfortable with other people reading their assignments and rating them, but in the end, it is all for the best - your future assignments will be better!

What is the author’s purpose in this excerpt? to explain why many Elizabethans tried poaching to explain why poaching was danger
NikAS [45]

If you are hungry, you might feel inclined to turn to poaching. But be careful: this is risky. Taking livestock is theft, and theft is a felony which carries the death sentence. Killing wild animals that live on another man’s land is also against the law; even taking a single fish from a river can result in a fine of a shilling or more. It is unlikely that you will be hanged for taking a wild animal such as a rabbit; but, even so, you will get a fine amounting to three times the value of the animal as well as three months in prison, and you will have to enter into a bond to guarantee your good behavior in the future; a second offense will be treated more harshly. If a gamekeeper attacks you and you defend yourself, you can be charged with assault. You may find yourself on the gallows if you injure him.

What is the author’s purpose in this excerpt?

A) to explain why many Elizabethans tried poaching

B)to explain why poaching was dangerous

C) to explain why landowners punished poachers

D)to explain why poaching often was forgiven

Answer:

B)to explain why poaching was dangerous

Explanation:

According to the excerpt, it is narrated that there are dangers to poaching. Some of these dangers which are backed by the law include:

 • getting the death sentence for stealing livestock
 • going to jail for killing wild animals who are on another man's land
 • getting fined for taking a fish from a river
 • getting charged for assault for defending yourself if a gamekeeper attacks you when you trespass
 • going to the gallows for injuring a gamekeeper you trespass on his land

Therefore, the author's purpose in this excerpt is to explain why poaching is dangerous.

Describe how history repeated itself in two instances of mass hysteria and in the use of propaganda after the Salem Witch trials
kakasveta [241]
Periodically throughout recorded history, puzzling instances of psychiatric and neurologic symptoms have presented en mass: outbursts of thrashing and screaming, or je rky spasms and abrupt vocal tics affecting a group of individuals at once and often attributed to causes like possession, witchcraft, and malingering. Such occurrences of so-called "mass hysteria" continue to confound the medical community, but growing experience has improved the understanding and approach to these seemingly contagious psychogenic events.
